Here is a page with tips and tricks for various things in the house. If you have any problems or questions, don't hesitate to contact Heidi at 91302112.

IMPORTANT: Do not use the terraces upstairs after 11 PM, or midnight on weekends.
House Access
If you have only rented the apartment on the ground floor, the rest of the house is likely empty (if someone is upstairs, it is only family). If it is empty, you are welcome to use the living room, TV, library, and kitchen on the second floor. It may be easier to go this way when you use the upstairs terrace.
If you are missing any kitchen equipment, feel free to go upstairs and get it. Please note that the second floor is not prepared for rental, so it hasn't been cleaned for that purpose. Please leave it as you found it. :-)
If you borrow any food, wine, etc., please replace it before you leave. If you need more towels or bed linen, they are in the third-floor closet (outside the bathroom) or in the boxes in the hallway by the third-floor bedroom.
In the hallway on the second floor, you will find life vests (useful on the rocks or in the boat), fishing gear, toys, etc. Feel free to borrow them, but replace them if you lose something. You will also find pool cleaning equipment there. You will find some toys under the stairs on the second floor, and board games in the library. The one called Economio, our family actually made it. :-) Feel free to enjoy, although you might have to use Google Translate.
There is also an ice cube machine in the upstairs hallway. It makes a lot of noise, so I recommend taking the finished ice cubes in a box to the freezer after you've made some. (Fill water up to the basket and plug in/start.)
Safety
In the closet in the master bedroom, third floor, there is an escape ladder so you can get out in case of fire. There are also fire extinguishers in the first and second floors, and fire alarms on every floor. If you need to contact the emergency service for some reason, the numbers in Norway are:
-
Fire: 110
-
Police: 112
-
Ambulance: 113
If you get sick but not critical, the number for the doctor on duty is: 116117

Internet and TV
Wireless Network: Hagev2
Password: welcome2farsund
The TV in the apartment is not very good and is mostly used for gaming. However, it has Chromecast, so you can stream from your PC or mobile. We recommend the upstairs living room if you want to watch a good movie. :-)
Doors and Locking
-
To unlock from outside: *(star) +the code you have received+ *(star)
-
To lock from outside: press * (star)
Make sure the door is fully closed, otherwise, it won't lock, especially the upstairs veranda door, which is a bit slow and needs to be pulled extra tightly.
Downstairs Kitchen
Most things should be straightforward, the only thing is that there is an extra drawer inside the top drawer where the cutlery is kept.
Downstairs Bathroom
There is a separate instruction for the shower/IR sauna in the bathroom. You will also find a washing machine and a drying rack there. The washing machine downstairs both washes and dries, but only a little at a time, so feel free to use the one upstairs.
Second Floor Kitchen
There is a tumble dryer in the kitchen upstairs that you can use. Note that there is a separate water tray on the top left that needs to be emptied between each drying cycle. The iron and ironing board are in the hallway. The kitchen fan is turned on inside the hood. The dishwasher is a bit hidden, but you can find it under the countertop.
Third Floor Bathroom
The bathroom is very old and does not meet today's standards for membranes, etc. Therefore, it is important that you keep the curtain inside the bathtub when you shower and spill as little as possible on the floor. Preferably use the shower on the first floor.
Trash
We sort paper, food waste, and other waste. Please take out the residual and food waste to the bins in front of the house before you leave.
Outdoor Area
This consists of the terrace outside the library, the terrace with the pool, and the area under the terrace.
As we live in a residential area, we ask for quiet on the terraces after 11 PM. If you wish to sit outside after 11 PM, sit downstairs under the veranda, but be quiet. :-) If you bring pets, keep them on a leash or similar. The neighbor in the gray house has chickens and rabbits that are often loose in their yard (if you ask, you might get to meet them). Another neighbor is afraid of dogs, no matter how small they are :-)
Area under the terrace
It's nice here if it rains or is windy. You will also find the sun early in the morning. There is a charcoal grill and a fire pit, as well as a trampoline. There are some gymnastics rings that can be swapped with a swing for small children that are there. Note that the slide is loose and can be used for sliding, but it may tip if 'roughly played on.'
Terrace with pool
Here you will find a sunbed, a hammock, a children's pool, and a hot tub. To get water in the shower, you need to turn on the water just around the corner in the driveway and connect the garden hose. If you want to fill the children's pool or need water for other things, use the same hose that goes to the shower (disconnect it and connect it to the reel that stands on the outside steps). As for the hammock, it is in the library if it is not already up, and it is a good idea to bring it in if it is going to rain for several days.
There are two parasol stands and a parasol that can be moved between them; remember to take care of it if it is windy.
The Pool
The pool has fresh water when you arrive, and there are simple procedures to keep it nice throughout your stay. Make sure the cover is on and secured when it is not supervised, as it is deep for small children. There are swimming rings in the hallway if needed. Please buy swim diapers if the children are too small to hold it (there are also some in the hallway upstairs that can be borrowed until you get some). Make sure everyone showers and washes before swimming and doesn't run on the grass before or during swimming. Equipment for cleaning, etc., is in the hallway upstairs.
If rainwater has collected on the cover, it is a good idea to scoop it off with a bucket before removing the cover to prevent rainwater from getting in.
A tip is to check every evening that the heat pump is not turned off during bathing, otherwise, it will get cold during the night.
You can also pour a little active oxygen before swimming each day if it is used a lot.
Normally, the pool water should last throughout your stay. If an accident happens with feces in the pool (a little urine is fine, the oxygen takes care of it) or for other reasons, you feel you need to change the water, it is not difficult. But be aware that it takes at least a day to heat it back up to the desired temperature. In case of a water change, follow this procedure:
-
Turn off the panel
-
Unplug it
-
Lift the plug in the pool (support with a broom handle to keep it up) and drain the pool
-
Remove the filter (turn left)
-
Rinse and clean the pool
-
Insert the plug, put in a new filter, and fill the pool
-
Plug it in, press the green button, and start the heat pump on the panel.

We hope you have a great stay, and if you like, you can write in our guestbook about your stay, it's placed on the dining table on the second floor.

Enjoy your stay!
